My name is Melissa Brengosz and I have been teaching at St. Joan of Arc since 2004 in the area of Physical/Health Education.  I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a degree in Physical Education, Health Education, and Coaching Athletics.  I have always been an advocate for exercise and fitness and feel that everyone should be active throughout their lives by finding activities they enjoy doing.  I love working with kids and teaching them how important it is to exercise and eat healthy each and every day.  I enjoy being actively involved with my students in a gym setting, working and learning about Health topics in a standard classroom, and working in such a family like atmosphere, which is why SJOA school has been a great fit for me.

Spending time with my family is the most valuable things in my life;  my husband John of 32 years, my children Emily, Nick, Jordyn, and Carly; my daughter-in-law Megan, son-in-law Dean, and my beautiful granddaughters Addison and Avery.  Our family has been members of the SJOA Parish since 1985 and my husband grew up and attended SJOA school during his elementary school years.  This is another reason SJOA is such a special place for us.   My interests include coaching the Varsity Field Hockey team at Arrowhead High School, watching 2 of my daughters play Collegiate Field Hockey at Central Michigan University, cross country skiing, watching sports of any  kind, exercising at the gym, and babysitting my granddaughters during the week.  Lastly, I am proud to have our school participate in the Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart events every February to benefit the American Heart Association.  The students enjoy this event and have been very successful raising funds for this very worthwhile cause.
