Rooted in Faith

We have a wonderful group of talented and dedicated people who enhance the liturgical celebrations at St Catherine through their spirit and their musical leadership.

ADULT CHOIR: Any singers high school age or older are welcome to join the Adult Choir.  Our membership includes trained singers, as well as those who had never read music before joining the choir.  From September through early June, the choir rehearses on Thursday evenings, 7:00 to 8:30 PM, and sings each weekend, mostly at the 9:00 AM Mass, but occasionally at the 5:00 PM Mass.  The Adult Choir also sings for all of the major liturgical celebrations of the Church year.

YOUTH CHOIR: The St Catherine Youth Choir is open to all 2nd through 8th graders. The Youth Choir sings about seven times each year from October through March or April, mainly for the 9:00 AM Sunday Mass on days when the Family Program is scheduled, but also including Christmas Day and Easter Sunday.  They rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 5:45 to 6:45 PM in church

HANDBELL CHOIR: This consists of at least 10 players.  Since it began a few years ago, our membership has been made up of adults and a few high school players.  This group does require music reading ability, but we will teach you the technique of playing the bells.  The Handbell Choir plays about once per month from September through May at various Masses, including the major liturgical celebrations of the Church year.  They rehearse on Thursdays from 5:45 to 6:45 PM.

CANTORS: Cantors support the singing of the congregation alone or in small groups.  At St. Catherine, they are especially needed for our 5:00 PM Saturday Masses, as well as for both weekend liturgies during the summer months.  Contact Steve Johnson for more information.

INSTRUMENTALISTS: Instrumentalists help bring the accompaniment of our liturgical music to life.  If you play flute, oboe, trumpet, violin, or another instrument, and would like to get involved in the Music Ministry at St. Catherine, please contact us.
