The St. Joan of Arc Parish School Athletic Committee is hosts the golf event annually in September to benefit our athletic program. St. Joan of Arc recognizes the value a comprehensive athletic program adds as part of an overall academic, spiritual, social, and physical curriculum. It provides our School and Christian Formation students with the opportunity to:
- Realize potential;
- Exercise body and mind;
- Experience teamwork and true camaraderie;
- Physically compete;
- Learn sportsmanship;
- Gain confidence; and
- Feel the Holy Spirit through school spirit.
Past events have provided funding for equipment and materials for our gym. Our past purchases have included basketball backboards, scoreboards, sound systems, bleachers, athletic equipment, and uniforms. Fifth through eighth grade students and parish Christian Formation members are able to participate in cross-country, volleyball, basketball, and track leagues for free. Furthermore, we provide scholarships to students for current and future education.
If you are a golfer or a hacker, come out and have some fun.
The 2019 golf outing: "A Round for the Kids" was held at Ironwood Golf Course in September. All proceeds from this event support our athletics program to keep the St. Catherine of Alexandria and St. Joan of Arc parish and school athletic program for children in grades 5-8 free of charge to all participants.
