Life Notices

We announce those in our parishes that entered into a New Life.

Keep them, their families, and friends in your prayers.

At the death of a Christian, whose life of faith was begun in the waters of Baptism and strengthened at the Eucharistic table, the Church intercedes on behalf of the deceased because of its confident belief that death is not the end, nor does it break the bonds forged in life. The Church also ministers to the sorrowing and consoles them in the funeral rites with the comforting Word of God and the Sacrament of the Eucharist. (From "The Order of Christian Funerals")

Marilyn I. Warnimont

Marilyn I. Warnimont (Née Bock), passed away at the age of 79, surrounded by her loving and devoted family, on Monday, September 15th, after a long courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born in Milwaukee, WI on December 23, 1945, daughter of the late George and Lydia Bock. She is survived by her spouse, the love of her life for 58 years of marriage, Robert (Bob) Warnimont, her daughter Kim Finch (Chris), son Chad Warnimont (Ann), brother Richard Bock (Mary), grandsons Brian and Zach Finch, and Daniel Warnimont, and other special nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and neighbors.

Marilyn graduated from St. Catherine’s Grade School in 1961. After attending Pius her first 2 years of high school, she met Bob, they quickly became best friends and started dating. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1964. 3 years later (on May 6th, 1967) they married, and the rest was history! Their marriage is a great example of what love is. Bobs devotion to Marilyn was strong until her last breath.

In Marilyn’s younger years, she worked at Chicago Title with her dad. Being a hard and dedicated worker, and very detail oriented, many years were spent in the financial sector – working at Park State Bank, FirstStar and US Bank, only taking a break in between to spend time raising their two children. She returned to work after her children began grade school and was employed at Kohls until her retirement. She was very excited and proud of all her overlapping employee Kohls discounts, which saved her family lots of money, especially at Christmas time. Thanks for all the savings, Mom!!

Marilyn was the most loving and devoted wife and mother. She was always there for us and frequently said how proud she was of us! The life lessons and advice she gave served all of us well. She taught us to be responsible, thoughtful and giving, which she exemplified each and every day. Such a beautiful woman with a big smile and sparkle in her eyes that lit up the room the second she walked in. Her presence just made us happy and lifted our mood.

She always enjoyed taking trips, whether it was driving Up North to the Minocqua area, to take in the beautiful scenery, going to Prairie du Sac to see Bald Eagles, Duluth to watch the massive ships come in, to Scottsdale AZ for its breathtaking landscapes, Prairie du Chien and Dubuque IA, or flying to Las Vegas, NV to witness her son and daughter in law get married, seeing cool shows, eating delicious food and trying to get lucky. Marilyn and Bob especially loved going to their favorite restaurant in Oconomowoc, Johnny’s (formerly known as Rosati’s), and she would always order one Italian Slammer drink. Many of their destinations allowed them to share and savor all kinds of sweet treats, which undoubtedly brought on the biggest smiles and giddiness. Her all time favorite dessert was a hot fudge sundae. Yum!

Somehow, Marilyn had the strength to cook amazing meals and host elaborate holiday gatherings, even thru Easter of this year. She literally made each one a magical occasion. Every Valentine’s Day, she would surprise our families with her delicious cherry cream pie and fudgy George Bush recipe brownies, which were devoured within days! She happily made her famous chip dip and buttery pretzels whenever requested by her grandsons, which always made their day.

Flowers brought her immense joy and purpose. She had quite the green thumb, as their house is always surrounded by beautiful and brightly colored flowers and bushes that she happily maintained. She especially enjoyed the large hibiscus plant she received every Mother’s Day from her daughter, well, until the deer would have their way with it and shockingly leave nothing but sticks. Somehow she was always able to revive it like nothing happened. It was like a miracle! Over the last few years, Marilyn enjoyed time spent with her daughter, walking around the Frame Park Formal Gardens. The smile on her face when she witnessed all the perfectly manicured and brilliantly colored flowers was priceless. Looked like she was in heaven. So thankful to have had those special moments with her there.

Marilyn was also a big sports fan, cheering on Kim at her baseball games, and Chad at his cross country meets. Later on she would attend many of her Grandsons baseball and basketball games. Throughout the year, she had fun rooting on the Brewers and Packers, either in person with her son and daughter-in-law, or at home, never missing a game.

Many referred to her as “St. Marilyn” because she was loving, caring, kind and always put others first. Her strength, positivity and fight to live were evident until her last day. She was a true inspiration to all who were lucky enough to know her. She was an angel to us on earth and will now be our ‘forever’ angel in heaven. All the happy and special memories we shared with her will lift our hearts and allow us to carry on her legacy. We have been extremely blessed and thank God for her every day.

We’d like to give a heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Siegel, his PA, Deanna and all the nursing staff from the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic for allowing us extra time to create more special memories with our Mom, and for the outstanding compassionate care she received from ProHealth Angels Grace.

Until we meet again...
