My Dear Friends,

As we wrap up the school year, I’m reflecting back on what an unusual experience it has been. On our first day of school back in late August, I never imagined we would end the school year in the midst of a global pandemic with our students learning from their homes and we all would face unimaginable emotional, physical, and financial challenges.

In the midst of this uncertainty, one of the constants for our students has been their teachers. They rose to the challenge in uncharted waters, providing a sense of normalcy and routine when children were feeling unsure and scared. Our teachers continued to prepare innovative lessons with engaging content, and helped our students to keep moving forward in their education when the world seemed to come to a screeching halt. Most importantly, they were there to listen and encourage when at times it became more important to look after their spirits than their studies.
